Sri Patel was a faculty in NIT, Rourkela and an active member of Rourkela Sathya Sai Samiti. In 2007 he took voluntary retirement and joined the Prashanthi Ashram. Despite having some problems like sciatica Sri Patel goes on working for Swami in the Ashram.

Sri Sharma helped me getting into the Ashram in Puttapatthi in March 2011 when I first applied to work in SSSIHMS and later on many occasions. He changed his base to Bengaluru a couple of years later where he goes on serving Swami. We had association with the Sharmàs from their Rourkela days and they both speak fluent Odia. It was indeed a pleasant surprise meeting them in Parthi.
