Dr. Rajkumar Rajguru Mohapatra : Obit

I'm not a regular walker in the morning, but whenever I used to go out, I invariably met him with his friends Dr. DN Mohapatra & Dr. Krupasindhu Nayak. Out of this vibrant group of three Dr. Rajguru Mohapatra was the most regular. A very affable personality this ex-Army doctor came down to Rourkela after completing his scheduled stint in the Army nearly two decades ago because of some special connection. He did medical practice from his residence in C Block, Koelnagar and it was known as ' Raj Clinic'. My aquainrance with him dates back to the days when he agreed to take over the presidency of SHRADHA- an NGO for persons with intellectual & other developmental disabilities. Those were the initial & formative days of Shradha and he managed to pull through the organisation on a firm footing in Sector-17. He was not a very busy professiinal, but very honest one with a strong wave of sympathy for the poor. He suffered a massive heart attack on 22nd July evening and passed away on 23rd in the early hours. Its a sad irony that his close friend ,classmate ,badminton partner from MBBS days and morning walk partner Dr. DN Mohapatra who is a proficient and pooular physician in Rourkela was out of town when he suffered the heart attack. His other morning walk partner Dr. KS Nayak took him to the ICU in IGH but this popular & kind personality left for his heavenly abode leaving behind his wife, son & daughter along with a host of close relations & friends in Rourkeka & elsewhere. His funeral was conducted on 26th July after his son returned from the US and the last rites were conducted on 1st & 2nd August.
My sincere condolences for Dr. RKR Mohapatra and may Swami take care of the emotions of his immediate and extended family members for this sad and untimely loss.
