Bulu, Silu & Gelhi

They came to their parents Srimati Sakuntala Patnaik & Sri KK Patnaik, but made it a point to visit us. They have remained close to us ever since their childhood when we came to Rourkela and joined Rourkela Steel Plant in 1981. They have all grown up and are parents themselves. Always bothered about the health of their parents they visit them whenever they find time. This one was the winter vacation visit.

Obituary Note- Sashadhar Senapati-10th Day

He was born a Zamindar's eldest son after 5 sisters. And Gangadhar Senapati the last Zamindar of Seragarh and his wife Labanya along with their 5 daughters had brought him up with a lot of affection. But the times were changing and he couldn't be a Zamindar like his father. With the Indian State getting independence, Sashadhar faced a lot of hurdles in his early life to keep the family property and later was an emotional poet depicting the frustrations in life. Though the sisters and younger brother left Seragarh for Balasore town he stayed at the Seragarh residence and was given company by wife and his younger son and his family. This man always wanted the whole family to be under one roof and remain one family after his father's death which probably the changing times didn't allow. He was a man who loved food and more than that loved to feed.Anyone who has visited Seragarh will vouch for it. Though managed everything from cultivation, he used to live life with honor. Suffered a stroke on 30th December 2009 at the age of 72 years. Though initially he was in critical condition, his condition improved with treatment at Balasore District HQ Hospital and was shifted to the residence of his eldest son. But all of a sudden passed away in the afternoon of 9th January 2010.
May his soul rest in peace and may God help his bereaved relations courage to face this great loss.

Visit to Savarmati Ashram of Gandhijee & Akshar Dham

Tight security at Akshar Dham even prevented me to take paan inside. So phtographs were out of question. It was cloudy and hazy that day, so we couldn't take a picture from outside. The back-ground pictures are not good.
It was a great experince visiting Gandhijee's ashram on the banks of Savarmati. It was as good a feeling as visiting Lord Jagannath at Puri. It was rekindling the values with which I was brought up during my childhood days. It reminnded me a great person who has greatly influenced my life Sri Nrushingha Charan Sahoo and the likes including Sanyasi Bhumananda. My salutations to this man called Mahatma Gandhi.
