My sister on 11th January 2006. I call her Dei and she is more than a mother to me.

Dr. Girija S Sahoo.

Dr. Girija Sahoo, the Burns and Plastic surgeon of IGH was the main person who encouraged us while we decided to get my sister to IGH from a distance of nearly 600 KMs in Jagatsinhpur after she suffered the burn injuries. Not only did he treat her well, he also encouraged my aged sister to live life as it came. He infused enough confidence in her to make the most out of a poor and situation. In his pursuit to help her he visited her at our home and oversaw the dressings. here Dr. Girija is photographed in our garden.

Naru in our front garden. Incidentally during the time my sister was very sick with burn injury, Sama and Biltu came home. Sama came on 2nd Jan and Biltu after appearing at the ALL India PG Entrance on 10th January. NAru was photographed by Sama.

Naru lifting his mother to make her sit. I call her dei and she is my elder sister now nearly 80 years old. She was brought to Ispat General Hospital from Jagatsinghpur for tratment of burn injuries at her home in Jagatsinghpur. Naru was there with her for the 4 weeks she stayed here and served her.

My elder sister who is 80 years old and stays in her village at Jagatsinghpur got burnt on both thighs, abdomen, back and lower chest when she fell on the open hearth oven at her residence on 19th of December. After consulting self and Niyati her brought her to IGH, Rourkela whre she was admitted to Burn Centre with 30% burn on 20th early morning. With her luck and sincere efforts from the staff and doctors of Burn Unit she was discharged on 6th January 2006. She has been staying at our place and is stiil under treatment with intravenous antibiotics, daily dressing. Her son Naru has come with her and stayed here ever since her arrival.
