Mrs. & Mr. Sudhakar Padhi visit us on 29th Dec 2010

Sri Sudhakar Padhi is a very well-known name in Rourkela for being one of RSP's Ex-Executive Directors and for his contribution to bringing up Bhanja Bhavan to be a great cultural centre in the state. Now settled in Bhubaneswar, he was here for some personal work and wanted to help an intellectually disabled inmate of Home & Hope, Sector-17 of economically back-ward parents. This he wanted to do in loving memory of his younger brother who passed away in IGH after a protracted illness about 10 years back. The money has been kept in a fixed deposit in the account of the Parents Association, Roukela and a child with ID was chosen to receive the monthly amount but this being the holiday time, we couldn't arrange for Mrs. & Mr. Padhi to visit Home & Hope to meet the first recipient and his parents and called them to my place.

Erstwhile Orissa Government Cadre of high repute this elderly gentleman is a staunch devotee of Sathya Sai Baba and heads the Sathya Sai Organisation in Rourkela. In line with Sai's wishes the local organisation adopts villages and organises free education and drinking water for them apart from providing health care services. Health care is also provided to the inmates of all residential complexes of Hansen patients by a devoted cadre from this org.

Dhal Babu's Family

This family has someone who is also intellectually disabled and I & my wife worked with Sri Gagan Bihari Dhal, head of the family in Ispat General Hospital for many years. The whole family is close to our family.
