Dr. Biswamohan Patnaik- an Obituary note

His trademark pose during his days in Ispat General Hospital I remember was crossing both his hands in front while walking alone or standing. A sweet and amiable personality I’m yet to come across a person who disliked this simple man who was known to many as Dr. BM Patnaik. Perhaps the Stores of IGH functioned the best during his days. For many years, he along with Dr. B.S. Dash formed the backbone of administration in IGH during our young days. Before that he used to work in the Dept of Surgery in the days of Dr. BS Dhillon. Always loved by colleagues and coworkers Dr. BM Patnaik has a charismatic career at his work place Ispat General Hospital. My close association with him came because Niyati and his wife Renu were once classmates in school days at Baleswar. During our days in IGH, we used to hear many real-life funny incidences on Dr. Patnaik from his close friends like Dr. Kiran Mishra. Renu was also a teacher to both my children in Ispat English Medium School. After her retirement in January 2011, they shifted base to Bhubaneswar. The couple blessed with three lovely and caring and loving girls have been settled well and the youngest had changed base from a metro to Bhubaneswar to be with the ailing parents. Around 2 weeks back, he underwent surgery for spondylolisthesis and had been shifted back to home but passed away because of cardio respiratory arrest around 330 pm on 6th January 2018. May his soul rest in peace. May Swami provide enough courage and strength to Renu and all her children to bear the loss.
