A Edward Arokiaraj

When Mr. Jesudas called a friend in Thanjavur while in our hotel room in Trichy and instructed Sama to call a number after visiting SASTRA on our way, little did we know of Mr. Edward Arokiaraj. We were running a bit late in schedule the next day and Sama called him around 11 45 AM. Initially there was no answer to the first call, but the second time Mr. Edward picked up the phone and she was instructed to search for a car at the New Bus Stand in Thanjavur. I was a bit curious to know about someone who was sending a car for us on his friend's request. The driver was instructed to anywhere we wanted to move and Mr. Jesudas had made a plan for us and it was Mr. Edward who coordinated it with clear instructions to Sama and his driver. Accordingly we moved to the Big Temple in Thanjavur, the Palace and later to the hotel Mr. Edward recommended for lunch. After lunch, we moved to the market for certain essntial purchases for Sama who though had stayed for 2 weeks had no idea about the town and the market. When we entered the Spencers, the driver casually remarked that the building where Spencers is situated belongs to Mr. Edward's siter. As the driver was talking in Tamil, we couldn't follow but Sama could understand to some extent. We went to the hostel where Sama was staying as I had to sign certain papers. And on the way, the driver showed us a place where Mr. Edward would be there. It was very much near to where Sama lives in a hostel. Its Yagappa School- a school that's making a name and niche in Thanjavur. A dream project of Mr. Edward. he was holding a meeting in the school on Sunday for an ensuing programme for the school when Sama called him first and was likely to have a very busy day. Mr. edward Arokiraj is a correspondent and had been a student of Mr. Jesudas long back. After he decided to build an educational institute of repute in Thanjavur, he has remained in touch with his old teacher and both have become close confidants. When we entered the campus, Mr. Edward was standing on the main road of the sprawLing school campus of Yagappa School. We had an interaction with him for nearly 20 minutes. This young man was quite unassuming. The pictures speak of his school, but the man is very modest and wants make his school one of the best. The only inference I could make from the brief meeting with Mr. Edward is that Sama is not alone in Thanjavur and she will be well taken care at the hour of need.Again a lot of thanks to Mama and Christie for providing such a nice friend from nowhere. May God help Mr. Edward Arokiraj and his family and help him to achieve his dreams.
