Some 30 years back this man was working in the Indian Army Headquarters in New Delhi the Ministry of Defence and as Babus of the Govt. of India had a quarter in Sarojini Nagar in New Delhi. With modest earnings and 3 children to support he and his loving and caring wife had no other option but to adopt and rear up the children of his brother-in-law who had a job in Delhi but died of cancer in young age and his wife also followed him in similiar circumstances. When Niyati went to Delhi in 1976 and was very lonely in Safdarjung Hospital, this quarter in Sarojini Nagar was the real place of solace for her. Later I also became a frequent visitor to this place and like many others we both called this man Sri Sukadev Das, Mausa and his very very loving and caring wife Mausi. We met Mausa at his son's residence in New Delhi on 15th September. Mausi now lives in Bhubaneswar where she's busy supervising the construction of a house.
